MakeShop Competition
The Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh, with funding from The Grable Foundation and The Pittsburgh Foundation, and support from The Sprout Fund, are providing “Maker” micro grants to programs and organizations who work with children and youth.
These micro grants will help programs and organizations to provide youth with meaningful making opportunities to design and produce items around two themes: Wearables or Rideables. Youth Makers are encouraged to think broadly about the themes and create items that are diverse and innovative.
It is our hope that by providing the necessary “maker” tools and expertise, we can help to create a community of young makers in Pittsburgh. Get involved today to help us celebrate the accomplishments of young people and inspire the next generation of tinkerers!
All projects will culminate with a celebration of Youth Makers at the Pittsburgh Mini Maker Faire on September 22, 2012.
